Homer Education Foundation

Dolly The Homer Education Foundation has partnered with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library to send books directly to preschool age children in the Homer Central School District. Each month, participating children receive a book delivered directly to their home. We believe we can foster a love of reading, strengthen family-child relationships, and contribute to a foundation of school readiness with this simple but powerful gesture.

For every $1 we contribute to postage-our financial part of the literacy partnership--the Dolly Parton Imagination Library Foundation matches with about $5 on a book. You can help us reach our goal of enrolling 100% of the eligible children in the Homer District by contributing to the HEF.

We want all of Homer's youngest children, from birth to five years old, to be among the lucky boys and girls who receive the gift of books, delivered free of charge, to their home each month.

    Mission

The mission of the Homer Education Foundation is to promote the development of excellence in instruction, to encourage innovation in programming and to ensure pride in the Homer Central School District by students, staff, alumni and the greater school community. The Homer Education Foundation will strive to provide financial resources for student scholarships, educational initiatives, programs, and projects that will enhance and add to those already included in the annual school district budget.

This academic year the foundation has given approximately $10,000 to the teachers & staff for programs for students. There are no administration costs to the Foundation and therefore 100% of your dollars have a direct impact. We are happy for the support of the community and ask that you come and participate in our events thank you.
